School Site Council: We are still looking for parents or guardians interested in serving on the DVC School Site Council. We meet four times a year to review, approve, and monitor the LCP (Learning Continuity & Attendance Plan) and the SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement). If you are interested, please fill out this interest form: School Site Council Member Interest Form
Leadership and Senior Committee: Students who are interested in joining our leadership class (this class helps students have fun and stay connected at DVC) as well as the senior committee (this group designs special events for seniors) should be on the lookout for applications that will be released tomorrow (Tuesday, September 1) on the “Class of ____” Google Classrooms. The application will be due on Tuesday, September 15 @ 4pm.
Student Clubs: Students who are interested in leading a new or existing club at DVC should do the following:
Virtual Meetings with College Admissions Officers: This week begins our virtual meetings with admissions officers. Students should look for the links for the meetings in their google classrooms. Here’s the list of meetings dates and times so far!

The counselors, Jennifer Barba and Artia Thomas, will begin to host the annual parent presentations to discuss graduation requirements, college admissions, and parent tips on next steps. The following are the dates and times for each grade level:
9th Grade – Wednesday, September 9 from 5:00pm – 6:00 pm – Mrs. Thomas
11th Grade – Thursday, September 10 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm – Mrs. Thomas
12th Grade – Tuesday, September 8 from 4:00pm – 5:00 pm – Ms. Barba
The 10th grade parent presentation will take place in the spring semester. As we get closer to the event, counselors will provide zoom link information. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email the counselor. We hope in seeing you soon!

Today, all DVC students have Connections from 9:30 – 10:30am, and then they have homework time to complete assignments and prepare for their classes on Thursday and Friday. We are hopeful that this schedule allows them the time they need to make progress on their academics and we look forward to hearing your feedback!
