Reminders for the week – 

• Makeup Picture Day is Monday 9/22 – students who were absent on the initial picture day are eligible for retakes in the morning between 9-11.
• Girls Volleyball Tuesday 9/23 @4:30pm vs. Vista Mar – Del Aire Park Gym 
• Friday 9/26 – Community Dialogue – ask your student about this fun event that involves the whole school

Back to School Night (2)

Thank you to all who attended Back to School Night. We hope you enjoyed the information and meeting your students teachers as much as they enjoyed meeting you.

TUESDAY 9/9 – BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

Back to School Night begins at 6:00 pm. Doors will open at 5:50 and the evening will run until 7:50 pm. Campus will be closing at 8:00 pm.  You will be starting the night and receiving your student’s schedule in Advisory so please check in with your student to see who that teacher is!

Please try to use the Da Vinci parking lots (both front and back) as well as the Del Aire Park parking lot if possible before using the residential streets.

THURSDAY 9/11 – WELCOME BACK KICKBACK!

Da Vinci Design’s Senior Committee is sponsoring a “Welcome Back Kickback” event to start the year.  There will be music, dancing, snacks, games and more!  This will take place from 7:00-9:00 pm on the DVD/DVC campus. Students of all grade levels welcome! (no guests – Da Vinci Design and Communications students ONLY at this event).

Tickets will be on sale this week during lunch in the center courtyard (near vending machines).  Prices are as follows:

• Pre-sale Tickets: $5 (deal includes entry, a slice of pizza and a drink)
• At the gate ticket purchase: $3 (pizza and drink not included)
• Pizza ($2) and drinks ($1) can be purchased separately at the event

News and Updates

The Club and Service Learning Fair is in the afternoon on Friday 9/5

• Here you can connect with nonprofits to earn service hours, or gather more details about clubs on campus that you can join.

Back to School Night – Tuesday, September 9th, 6:00pm to 8:00pm

• Powerschool will be our gradebook system this year.  We will be distributing student and parent login information at Back to School Night, as well as giving students all information on Tuesday, September 9th

Kim Merritt Update

Kim Merritt, our 9th grade English and Humanities teacher, has moved onto a new role at Da Vinci.  She is spending the year researching and planning the implementation of Da Vinci’s college program offerings, including what DVC’s 13th year will look like when it is rolled out.  Kim is also spending time supporting DVC, so luckily for our students they will get to see her around campus.

New Counselor – Brittany Goodacre

Brittany Goodacre is our full time school counselor at DVC.  She will be working with our students on college preparation as well as the socio-emotional and adjustment to high school side of counseling.  Her office is located where Jackie was last year, and she can be reached quickly for an appointment using a google form:
