TASS is a free 6-week program for high school sophomores. Led by two professors, 12 to 18 students will live together in a residence hall at the host university. For the year of 2017, the seminars will be covering the following topics: The Opposite House: Grieving Time in Space and Place (Cornell I); Black Feminist Thought (Cornell II), The Black Struggle for Freedom: An Interdisciplinary Perspective (Michigan I), and Performance, Gender, Race and Culture in the Harlem Renaissance and in Parisian Negritude (Michigan II). There will be no charge for tuition, books, or room and board. Counselors and teachers must nominate sophomores that they feel will benefit from the TASS summer program by December 1.
There will also be a Lunch and Learn session in Carmen Garcia’s room (DVD room 402) on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 during lunch. Please grab your lunch and head right over.If you plan on attending please sign up with Brittany, she will place a sheet on her door.
