Dear Da Vinci Communications Families,

Today at 11:55am at the request of the LA County Sheriff Southern California station, Da Vinci Communications and Da Vinci Design were put on lockdown due to a home burglary west of our location. At 12:15pm, the LA County Sheriff informed us that the suspect was in custody, and that the lockdown was no longer in effect.  The lockdown was precautionary, as there was never a threat or person on campus who posed a danger to our students. The day will continue as normally scheduled for today.

As we finish January and head into February, as we discussed, students will be busy!!

Family Meal Fundraiser 1/29/14 – Panda Express Manhattan Beach

Our Panda Family Meal night is set for 1/29, 5-9pm. Please see the Fundraising tab for the flyer. You MUST bring the flyer with you and present it when you order so our school receives their portion of the proceeds. We will hand flyers out at school as well if you are unable to print from home.

Parent Mentor opportunities as discussed last week –

Wednesdays from 9:30am to 12:00pm

Parent mentors will most often work with a group of students on a specific piece of their    project.    

In the past we have had mentors work on engineering a stage, public speaking and event promotion.  We will try and fit your skills and expertise to a group that could most use them.

We have added a new TAB for our families called “ASK NATHAN” –

“Ask Nathan” has been added for you to ask our principal questions and he will answer either publically or personally, whichever the question indicates. We want out parents to feel free to ask whatever is on their minds. Additionally, we want to ensure we are providing all the information you need or what.

Unfortunately our key speaker will not be able to make the joint meeting on Tuesday, January 21st so we will instead be meeting at DaVinci Communications in Kim’s room at 6pm.
