All of us in the Wiseburn School District are getting ready to “STEP UP” for our 11th annual fundraiser, Rock Around the Block FAMILY FUN DAY, on Saturday, May 3rd 10am-3pm at Dana Middle School in Hollyglen to benefit the Wiseburn Education Foundation (WEF).  More than 500 dedicated parents, community members, Board of Trustees, PTA members, faculty, staff and administration, will be in attendance to support quality music and arts programs in the Wiseburn School District. With help from the Wiseburn Ed Foundation, our children are able to receive music programs, art programs, and the Growing Great program.  This is the one major fundraiser the Ed Foundation has each year!

For those who are new to the district this year, Rock Around The Block “RAB” is a carnival style event with food, games, attractions, and a silent auction. There is even a petting zoo, a photo booth and a giant slide this year. The children “walk around the block” to kick off the event at 10 am. Many children from our district’s music program will be performing. We encourage you to come out for this huge community event which is always a lot of fun for everyone!

·         Wednesday: Field trip, normal school day 9:00am to 3:55pm

·         Thursday: Minimum day 9:00am to 1:30pm, SLCs after school by appointment

·         Friday: Minimum day late start 10:00am to 2:30pm

Thanks for all who participated in the Family Ice Skating event! The DaVinci Wolves played in their first games EVER this weekend and won 1 of their 3! This is huge for a team who has never played together! Great job Wolves!

Families – A BIG thank you for all who attended Exhibition! WOW our students worked hard and their 2nd exhibition rocked it!

Our last Shakey’s fundraiser was a success as was our See’s fundraiser. We will be using the proceeds for our student’s trip to see a play! What a great experience for our students.

This week students will be selling Ice Skating tickets at lunch for our fundraiser this Friday, April 25. Tickets are $10.00/person and includes skate rental.

The second parent workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 8^th from 6-7pm in Ms. Vance’s room (103) at the Design/Communications Campus

• This workshop will focus on how parents can preserve quality time with their children in the fast paced world of technology.  Parents will discover positive ways to utilize technology yet stay connected through authentic face to face time.  The event will provide parents with tools to encourage their teens to become self-reliant, effective, and safe users of technology.
• The discussion will be facilitated by Fay Van Der Kar Levinson, Ph.D., Child Psychologist, Julia Hobbs, M.A., C.C.C., Communication Specialist, and Caroline Packman, Parent in the Trenches.

Exhibition is Thursday 4/10 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

• Come see students’ great work this semester
• Students are all expected to be present for the whole event (until 8:00pm) and in professional dress (dress pants, collared shirt and tie for boys)

See’s Candy orders due NO LATER THAN MONDAY 4/7 so we can deliver on time for spring break and Easter!

Spring Break is April 14^th – April 21^st.  (School resumes on Tuesday 4/22 for students)
