I hope you are all enjoying the sun and heat as summer is in full swing. Looking forward to the start of the year here are a few key pieces of information you may be seeking:

First day of school: August 18^th

We will open the gates at 8:50 for school to begin at 9:00am

Class schedules will be passed out the first day of school.  Students will be directed to their advisories for that first class on August 18^th.  9^th grade students will receive their advisories when they enter on day 1, and 10^th and 11^th graders will have to check their advisories as well when they walk in, as we have a new set of 11^th grade teachers and some returning students will be shifted into their advisories.

There are no placement exams to take before day 1. Class material lists will also be handed out by teachers that first week, so for the first day of school just come with the basics – pencil and paper in whatever carrying mechanism you desire.

Summer Bridge – New Students

Summer Bridge: August 10^th-13^th, 9am to 12pm

Attention all new students (incoming 9^th graders as well as transfer students) – we are hosting a summer bridge program for all new students and we would love to introduce you to Da Vinci Communications (DVC) before the official start of the school year.  This is a voluntary program, and all new students are highly encouraged to come join us to learn about Da Vinci and meet your new classmates and teachers!

Summer Bridge will run from Monday August 10^th through Thursday August 13^th from 9am to 12pm.

Summer Bridge/Welcome Week is a week-long program that allows freshmen students, transfer students, and their families to experience the Da Vinci Communications (DVC) environment and culture prior to entering in the fall. Summer Bridge/Welcome Week will bridge the gap between middle school and high or their old school and DVC through a series of team building activities, introducing DVC’s signature practices, and other helpful information that will give freshmen students, transfer students, and their families a head-start on all things DVC.  Ultimately, they will be able to build relationships with other students, faculty & staff, and reduce the amount anxiety of starting a new school brings.

• Binder setup

Wednesday, August 12th: FAMILY BRIDGE (All new students, including transfer students, and parents)

Thursday, August 13th: All new students (including transfer students)

• College basics and summer programs
• What I wish I would have known before 9th grade, 10th grade, and about DVC
