Each year Da Vinci Schools rely on gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign to meet the immediate needs of our schools and programs. These gifts play a tremendous role in our ability to provide a real-world, college and career-ready education.

All gifts $1-$365 will support the entire K-14 community. Contribution amounts over $365 may be directed to the school or program of your choice. We ask families and friends to consider a minimum gift of $365 per year (only $1 per day).

Sign up for the Work Experience Seminar for 2^nd Semester!

WHAT? Have your student sign up for the Work Experience Program (WEP) Seminar for Spring semester 2018 this week. (Students will sign up via a google form later this week for 2^ndsemester seminars)

WHO?  Open to all juniors and seniors

WHY?  The work experience program allows students the opportunity to work in local businesses to gain experience to put on their resumes.  By participating in work experience, students are more likely to be hired when they apply for a paid job because they now have experience and references on their resume.  This stops of the cycle of not getting hiring because experience is lacking, and not getting experience because students have never had a job.  While it is unpaid, students receive school credit.  Many students are hired on by their work experience placement the following summer and/or find that their experience helped them get a job.

WHEN? Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15pm-5:15pm

***Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the worksite***

DVC Families,

As you may have noticed, during scheduled POL days we have experienced more of a backup on Douglas St. and El Segundo Blvd. This is due to all 3 schools having shared start and end times for each POL session.  To help alleviate this, we suggest the following:

• avoiding the left-hand turn from Douglas into campus and instead approaching on Douglas from the north (for instance, from Imperial) to make a right-hand turn onto campus
• carpooling
• dropping off your students earlier in the morning (the MPR and our floor will be open to students at 7:30 the rest of the week)
• picking up your students later in the day
• encouraging your students to use public transportation
• having students walk, ride bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc. to campus

We will also not be marking students tardy until 8:30.

We will remedy this next semester, but in the short term very much appreciate your patience and support these last few days!
