Dear Parents,

Da Vinci Communications’ 11th graders will be participating in the October 10th PSAT exam. This will be a great opportunity for students to receive feedback on their strengths and areas of growth in preparation for the SAT exam. Students will be receiving a study booklet and guide in the coming days that they can use in preparation for the exam. You can also visit the College Board website to learn more about the exam and  and to access additional practice resources.

Please note that the 9th and 10th graders will be taking the PSAT in the Spring.

Local College Fair Opportunity    Students, take advantage of the 21st Annual Harbor Area College Fair happening THIS Saturday, September 15th from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Over 100 College Representatives will be present and there will be several workshops to attend! Admission is FREE! See the flyer for more info! 

Peer Mentors  Want to grow as a student this year in accountability and organization? Need to learn some helpful study techniques, stress management pointers, or time management strategies? Learning these things from a fellow student could be just what you need!  Sign-up for a peer mentor by going to tinyurl.com/dvcPeerMentor and submit a brief application to help you bring your “A-game” this school year!

9th, 11th, 12th Grade Parent meetings with counselors. The counselors will begin to host the annual parent presentations to discuss graduation requirements, college admissions, and parent tips on next steps. The following are the dates and times for each grade level: 

 9th Grade – Monday, September 17 @ 4:00pm in room 3205 (Andy)

12th Grade – Tuesday, September 18 @ 4:00pm in room 3205 (Andy)

12th Grade – Wednesday, September 19 @ 8:00am in room 3101 (Deepti)

11th Grade – Thursday, September 20 @ 4:00pm in room 3205 (Andy)

 The 10th grade parent presentation will take place in the spring semester. Also, please bring a form of identification to check in with the first-floor secretaries. We hope in seeing you soon.

Today is Da Vinci Schools’ annual club fair. This is a terrific opportunity for students to explore new interests, meet new friends, and build their college resume. Please encourage your students to join at least one club this year!
