Save the Date! You’re invited to a free screening of “Autism Goes to College” at 6pm on Wednesday, January 29th in the Da Vinci Black Box Theater. In this film, five diverse students on the autism spectrum take us into their lives and into their classrooms to show us how they’re making college work. Following the film screening, there will be a Q&A session available with Director Erik Linthorst. Week 18 Schedule

Please note that we have our next School Site Council Meeting on Wednesday, January 22nd at 4pm.
And most importantly, I want to thank our school counselor, Diana Vallejo, for her excellent work this past semester and throughout her time at Da Vinci Communications. We are sad to see her transition to a new job, but we wish her all the best. We are also grateful that Chris Miller (cmiller@davincischools.org) will serve as our interim 12th grade college counselor as we work to find a replacement for Diana. Please know that the entire DVC team is here to support your students during this time of transition. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me, Chris Miller, or Andrew Daramola if you or your student needs any assistance.

Dear DVC Families,
It is with heartfelt words that I write this letter to inform you that I will be leaving the position of Counselor at Da Vinci Communications High School and beginning in a new position as Program Coordinator at Educational Talent Search. I will miss working at DVC and I feel honored to have been able to experience a wonderful partnership with the students, staff and families in our community.
Thank you for filling each day with life and laughter. It has been a pleasure to serve as a counselor at DVC. I hope you know how much I have enjoyed my time here. Chris Miller, currently the Student Success Coordinator, will act as the Interim College Counselor for the class of 2020. I thank you in advance for your patience during this transition.
I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve you, your children and this outstanding school community and hope you know I am especially proud of our students. I look forward to hearing great things about their accomplishments as they continue their education at Da Vinci Communications and beyond.

Spring 2020 College Courses
Who: Juniors and Seniors
What: College courses at Da Vinci, through El Camino College. Courses meet transfer requirements for all Cal State and U.C. campuses, as well as most private colleges and universities.
Cost: Free! The state of California and Da Vinci Schools pick up the costs, including text book fees.
Where: Classes will be held at Da Vinci Communications at 201 N. Douglas Street.
If you are interested, students need to meet with their counselors to discuss next steps on how to register for the class or send an email to Ms. Barba at jbarba@davincischools.org. All forms are due on Wednesday, January 22, 2019. To be eligible to take a dual enrollment class the students need to pass all their academic classes, have no credit recovery for a-g classes, and be a senior or junior.
