Hi DVC Families,

We appreciate your patience as we get all set up for this new school year. The entire staff has been working hard this week to prepare for the big day: The First Day of School! We will be kicking things off with an All-School Webinar on Monday, August 17th at 9:30am. All students are expected to join, and parents and guardians are encouraged to do the same. We are also working on a new website that will be a main hub for Fall 2020. There aren’t links to click yet, but you can check it out here (and bookmark it) here: DVC Fall 2020 Website

If you were unable to come by DVC on Monday, there is another chance to pick up a chromebook and get your school picture taken. Please plan to come on Thursday, August 13th between 8:30 and 12:00 for pictures and chromebook distribution (if desired). If you are a returning student and would like to purchase or pick up your yearbook, we will also have those available on this makeup day. Please contact Jackie Martinez (jmartinez@davincischools.org) for any questions regarding yearbook distribution.

And finally, and perhaps most importantly, students’ schedules will be emailed to parents, guardians, and the students on Friday, August 14th! You have not yet missed getting your schedule for the fall – just keep a eye on your email.

Dear Grade 9, 10 , and 11 DV Communication Parents/Guardians and Students,

I would like to take this time to personally apologize for some of the unacceptably long wait times that you experienced this morning when you arrived to pick up technology your student needed and to have their Student ID Photo taken.  Because of an unexpected glitch in our check-in system, we fell behind and were unable to get back on track until after the lunch hour with the 12^th grade students.  I always strive to work with our teams to get you in and out as quickly and safely as possible knowing that many of you have jobs to return to and other siblings and family members to take care of at home.   I will continue to work to improve on the systems we have in place when you need to take care of any business on the campus and am always open to any suggestions or recommendations you have.  Again, my most sincere apologies and I hope that the rest of your day went well!

Thank you for the terrific turn-out at last night’s informational meeting! You can see a recording of it here and the slides for the meeting here.

A reminder that this Monday, August 10th is Chromebook Pick-Up + Student Photo Day, so please come by for one or both of these events.

In order to help us better prepare for this event, please click on the link below to pre-register, indicating that you will be coming to the campus at the time and date scheduled for your student.

• 9th grade: 8:30 am – 10 am (RSVP here)
• 10th grade: 10 am – 11 am (RSVP here)
• 11th grade: 11 am – 12 pm (RSVP here)
• 12th grade: 1pm – 2pm (RSVP here)

It will help us serve you if you can come during your assigned times, but if you are not able to come during these times you may come anytime between 8:30am to 2:00pm. Regardless, please register for the spot that matches with your grade-level.

9th grade: 8:30 am – 10 am

10th grade: 10 am – 11 am

11th grade: 11 am – 12 pm

12th grade: 1pm – 2pm

It will help us serve you if you can come during your assigned times, but if you are not able to come during these times you may come anytime between 8:30am to 2:00pm. If you cannot come on Monday, August 10th, the makeup day is Thursday, August 13th.

Parents/guardians are welcome, but not required, to come for pickup.
