Happy Sunday, DVC Families!

We are kicking off Week 8 at DVC and we have some great events planned! Check out the details here and also at tinyurl.com/dvcwebsite.

About the Virtual Overnighter for 9th Graders: There is a 9th Grade Drive-Thru parade from 9:00-10:30 on Thursday, October 8th at 201 N. Douglas St. El Segundo, CA 90245. Students will be able to pick up a grab bag of camp supplies, see their teachers, and get excited all from the comfort of the car. Please register at the links below using the name of your student. Please reach out to Mr. Daramola (adaramola@davincischools.org) with any questions.

About Financial Aid for College: On Wednesday, October 7th from 4:30 – 6:00pm, there will be a FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Student Aid) information meeting led by the counselors from Da Vinci Schools. Here is the zoom link to join the meeting: FAFSA Information Meeting Zoom Link

About College Admissions: Student can learn more about the admission process, school programs, financial aid, and have a Q&A with an admission representative from the following schools. Students who are interested in joining should check their grade level google classroom for the zoom link. Below are the dates and times that each college/university will be hosting a virtual presentation:

  • Tuesday, October 6 – Academy of Art University from 12:10pm – 12:40pm
  • Monday, October 19 – Syracuse University from 12:40pm – 1:10pm
  • Tuesday, October 20 – SUNY at Purchase College from 12:10pm – 12:40pm
  • Thursday, October 22 – University of California-Santa Cruz from 12:10pm – 12:40pm (just added)
  • Tuesday, October 27 – California State University Dominguez Hills from 12:10pm – 12:40pm (just added)

Class of 2024 Virtual Overnighter: October 8th & 9th!

Hello DVC Families and the Class of 2024!

This year, we are excited to be conducting a Virtual Overnighter experience for our Freshmen. Overnighter is a DVC tradition where students travel to the Big Bear area to bond with their class, have fun, and dig deep about what they feel and what they want out of the DVC experience.

While we can’t physically go to camp right now, we can still bond, have fun, and reflect! The Virtual Overnighter will be happening during the regularly scheduled school day on October 8th and 9th (Thursday and Friday). We have a bunch of games, activities, and councils that will be led by the 9th grade Team and our wonderful Overnighter Leaders in grades 10-12.

We will have one socially distanced event at the 201 N. Douglas building to kick things off: a 9th Grade Drive-Thru parade! Students will be able to pick up a grab bag of camp supplies, see their teachers, and get excited, all from the comfort of your car. This will be from 9:00-10:30 on October 8th. We ask that students with last names A-G arrive between 9:00-9:25; H-O beween 9:30-9:55; and P-Z between 10:00-10:25.
