December 12, 2020 by Erin D'Souza

Happy Saturday, DVC Families,

Only four days of school remain until the winter break! It was such a treat to see our 12th graders come by on Wednesday and pick up their caps and gowns. I know there is still a long way until June, but the time will certainly fly by – it always does (especially if you’re a parent)!

Here are the important dates dates and things to know. As always, you can check out this information and more at tinyurl.com/dvcwebsite.

Important Dates for Week 17 & Beyond:

  • Monday, 12/14: PowerSchool Access Turned Off for Students and Parents
  • Wednesday, 12/16: 11th Grade Drive-Through Event from 2pm – 4pm
  • Thursday, 12/17: Last Day of Semester 1
  • Monday, 1/11: First Day of Semester 2

Please note that each grade level has a different schedule for this last week of school. The schedules are included in this post.

And finally, we’re gathering words of appreciation for our staff. If you have a few minutes, please consider sharing your gratitude here.

Warmly,

Erin

Hi Class of 2021 Families,

Just a friendly reminder that Senior Portraits are this weekend (Saturday, 12/12 and Sunday, 12/13). Please bring your cap, gown, and tassel for your photo! Please check here to confirm your appointment date and time or to schedule an appointment. The appointment to take the photos is free of charge, and families will have several options to purchase digital or printed images. You are able to pay for the digital images at the time of the appointment, and you are able to purchase printed packages when the photos are available online. For information about pricing, please read this flyer. All senior portraits will be available for purchase at this website: Da Vinci Schools – StaceeLianna

In order to prevent the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and promote the safety of all the participants involved, everyone will be asked to follow the Protocol and Guidelines established by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Da Vinci Schools for this type of event. We strongly request that all participants arrive in an enclosed vehicle.

  1. All vehicles will enter through the Main (North) Entrance only, park in the designated area in Lane 3 (see Map), and will exit from the Main (South) Exit only (see map). Upon arrival please follow the directions and instructions given by our Da Vinci Safety Officers and staff.
  2. Students will check in and be guided to the MPR for their portrait during their assigned appointment time. Everyone must wear a face covering and maintain social distancing requirements (6 ft. distance) at all times. Removal of mask will be allowed only when it is time to have the portrait taken. When the windows of any vehicle are rolled down, all participants in the vehicle must be wearing a face covering.
  3. Parents may proceed to the Portrait Package Purchasing station set up by the skateboard and bicycle racks. A waiting/viewing area will also be set up outside of the MPR for parents while their student is having their portrait taken. Otherwise, participants must remain in their own vehicles and cannot change vehicles at any time or congregate outside of their vehicles. Only authorized Da Vinci staff assisting with this event can remain outside.
