We are excited to announce that Donald “D.R.” Moreland has been named Athletics Director of the Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics Program. D.R. assumed his duties last week.
Moreland has more than 20 years of experience as an administrator, athletics director, and passionate educator specializing in youth development, managing relationships across diverse populations highlighting community involvement, and commitment to academic and athletic achievement. READ MORE >>>
Children and youth mental health issues are real, widespread, and treatable. Latest studies indicate that one in five students have mental health issues and adverse childhood experiences have been shown to have lasting harmful impacts if not addressed. Tragically, suicide remains the second leading cause of death for adolescents. Researchers have found that the rate of mental health disorders in children and youth have steadily increased over the past two decades. One recent study linked the effects of the pandemic to a 91% increase in adolescent mental health crises. Below are links to six free workshops for students and families:

We had a wonderful first week of hybrid and we’re excited to welcome back Cohorts 1 and 2 again this week! As a reminder, Cohort 1 comes on Monday and Tuesday and Cohort 2 comes on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday is our asynchronous day in which students have one class in the morning and the rest of the day to complete their schoolwork. *Please note that we’ve had to cancel our 11th Grade Outdoor Activity originally scheduled for 5/5 and 5/6 due to the switch to the hybrid schedule, but we will be rescheduling this event and will keep you updated with the new dates. We are excited to begin our new hybrid schedule tomorrow! School will start at 8:40am for all students (both those online and those on campus). This week, Cohort 1 comes on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Cohort 2 comes on Thursday and Friday. All students coming to campus must complete the Facilitron Health Screening before entering the building. For students with personal mobile phones, it makes the most sense to complete this before you arrive and show us the “green check” on the screen when you arrive. For students without personal mobile phones, it would be best to complete this on a device at the home prior to leaving, or to complete it on another device while on the way to campus. 
We are excited for our first week of hybrid learning!
