Students are provided a variety of opportunities to prepare for college entrance exams here at DVC.
Juniors this fall took the PSAT, recently received their scores, and during POLs this week and next will be meeting with their counselor, Ms. Barba, to review their scores & access personalized online study plans provided by the College Board and Khan Academy.
DVC also provided a 90-minute workshop for all Juniors by Ivy Prep Academy on the ACT test. All juniors are strongly encouraged to sign up and take either the ACT or SAT in late spring of their Junior year (April-June). We will be providing more information about specific test dates we recommend, as well as how to access fee waivers for students that qualify in January.
Speaking of ACT prep, all students interested in preparing for the ACT test should sign up for a prep class hosted at Da Vinci during the January teacher PD week, Jan 7th through 11th. Grades 9-11 welcome. See here for details.
Freshman and Sophomores will be taking the 9th & 10th-grade versions of the PSAT in the spring and will receive their scores and info on what they mean & how to use the information to prepare for the real SAT before the end of the year.
We will once again host an ACT prep class through Ivy Prep after school next semester as well, look for information on the blog in late January or early February on how to sign up your student for that class.
