DVIA Campus Transformation
DVC Community, DVIA is looking to transform their campus front from a dirt field into a creative and beautiful front wall and just like our Green Spaces project required a ton of work, they are looking for volunteers to help! (And you can get your volunteer hours here as well.)
They are looking to build seating, use less water to maintain the yard, and all of this is possible, but they need volunteers!
Please join DVIA on Saturday, May 2nd for our Sharefest Family Work Day and help make that dream a reality! We need 50 volunteers to sign up this weekend or we may have to cancel the event, which would be really unfortunate! Especially since our front yard now looks like this:
We have some great projects happening, including:
- Creating a garden and outdoor seating area with drought tolerant plants in front of the school (that’s what the post structures in front of campus are for and that’s why the grass is gone)
- Creating a really exciting mural in front of campus to spruce things up! Your family can be part of creating the mural!
- Installing a shed for Makerspace materials
- Helping with general campus cleanup and revitalization
We’ve already got support from Sharefest, Balfour Beatty Construction, various landscaping companies and designers, including DVIA parent Gia Meidav and artist and parent PeQue Brown. Now we need you and your entire family (kids too!) to help us make it a reality.
Please RSVP so we know we have enough people and consider donating food using this link. Thank you!
