The 12th grade Government/Econ and English classes held a Model United Nations simulation over three days this past week. To prepare, students wrote position papers on one of four topics (Right to privacy, State building in Afghanistan, Drug trafficking in Latin America, and the Syrian refugee crisis) from the perspective of one of the member nations of the United Nations. During the simulation, students took on the role of the UN delegate of their country, and debated their positions on these topics, wrote resolutions proposing solutions, and voted on which resolutions were best.
