Founded in 2013, Da Vinci Communications is the recipient of a prestigious Next Generation Learning Challenges grant funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundations. For the 2018-19 school year, Da Vinci Communications is serving approximately 410 9th through 12th grade students, and will continue to grow each year until it reaches full enrollment of approximately 515 students.
The curriculum of DVC is founded upon the UC/Cal State “A-G” requirements for admission, and we use a Project-Based Learning methodology for the delivery of course content, with assessment through a mastery-based grading system that is used by all teachers in the school.
DVC students have four career pathways to choose from: Computer Science (robotics, web design, app development), Strategic Communications, Journalism, and Music & Media Production. These pathways include specialized courses as well as unique opportunities for students to work alongside professionals in these fields as well as opportunities for internships.
