Good afternoon 12th Grade Families,
DVC will be hosting an in-person 12th grade parent night this Wednesday, September 13th from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm in the Black Box. Ms. Thomas, Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Aldrete will give an overview of the College and Career process for the Class of 2024. Topics covered during this presentation will be anything from how students solidify their college list, go over the college application process, FAFSA/CSS Profile and its changes, dispel any misconceptions about financial aid and so much more!

Interested in a career pathway into the creative industry? The International Eye LA has opened applications for the Los Angeles Creative Industry Academy (LACIA). They are seeking 6 fellows for their 2023 Youth Producer & Director Fellowship Program Sept. 20 – Oct. 25.
LACIA exposes emerging culture bearers, producers, and creatives from diverse and underserved communities to training, skills and connections necessary to enter high paying careers in the creative industries. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and will receive a $1000 stipend upon completion of the program. Click here to apply. Students are encouraged to submit applications by September 15th.

Here are the list of college/career reps that will be visiting DVC during lunch this upcoming week:
All college rep visits will take place in Mr. Jackson’s room (3203), no sign-ups are required to attend. Students are able to grab lunch after the presentation as I will give out excuse slips to extend their lunch time.
DVC Students of all grade levels (9-12) can attend these rep visits.
