NACAC Virtual College Fair (FREE!)- Saturday, April 27th

Registration is Open for NACAC’s Virtual Fair! 

You and your students are invited to the NACAC Virtual College Fair happening on Sunday, April 27 from 1- 6 p.m. ET. 

The virtual fair provides students with the wonderful chance to connect with hundreds of colleges and universities, all from the comfort of their home. Plus, it is completely free.

Don’t Forget College Matchmaking®

Our fairs offer College MatchMaking®. During registration, students can select the college features that are most important to them. They will then receive an email that matches them to specific colleges and universities that best match their criteria and that will be available at the fair. College MatchMaking® is an incredible opportunity for students to identify their top choices.

Empower Your Students with Resources From NACAC 

NACAC’s student-focused website offers resources on the college search, application, and admission process. Students can access the Guide to the College Application Process, use helpful checklists, and learn about paying for college. The trusted, up-to-date information includes resources such as the Student Debt Smarter tool made possible by the Peter G. Peterson foundation. The tool helps students better understand financial options for college. Students can see personalized financial information and resources to help them understand student loans and more.

College & Career Rep Visit This Week: 4/22-4/25

Hello DVC,

I hope you all had a restful Spring Break! Here are the list of college/career reps that will be visiting us during lunch this week:

  • Thursday, April 24th @ 11:45 am: Universal Technical Institute

All college/career rep visits will take place in Mr. Jackson’s room (3203). As a reminder, please grab your lunch and head upstairs to Jackson’s class. No extended lunch passes will be given.

Students of all grade levels (9-12) can attend the college rep visits.

Week 31 Schedule

We hope that you had a wonderful spring break! There are just 8 more weeks left in the school year – time to finish strong! Our final Community Learning Day (CLD) is on Monday, 4/21 and classes resume on Tuesday, 4/22.

Community Learning Day (CLD) on Monday, 4/21: The fourth and final Community Learning Day (CLD) is on Monday! Students have the option to come to school from 8:30am – 12:30pm OR plan their own day off-campus (i.e. work on schoolwork at home or do something educational like visit a museum) if they have a signed and returned off-campus independent learning permission slip. ALL students (whether they are on campus or at home) must fill out this Community Learning Day Attendance Form to receive attendance credit. As a reminder, these forms can only be accessed by students through their davincischools account.

Summer School: We will be offering Summer School for students who did not pass a class required for graduation. Classes will be held at DVC (201 N. Douglas St. El Segundo, CA 90245). If you have any questions regarding summer school, please contact your student’s counselor.

    • Session 1: Tuesday, June 17 – Friday, July 11 (8:30am – 11:30am)
      • No classes on Thursday, 6/19 (Juneteenth Holiday)
      • No classes the week of Monday, 6/30 (July 4th Holiday Week)
    • Session 2: Tuesday, July 15 – Thursday, July 31 (8:30am – 11:30am)

Staff Appreciation Week: Call for Donations!

Dear DVC Students and Families,

We are gearing up for DVC Staff Appreciation Week during the first week of May and we have big plans! 

For staff and teacher appreciation week, we plan to do the following:

  • Host an Appreciation Breakfast on Monday, May 5th
  • Host an Appreciation Lunch on Wednesday, May 7th
  • Distribute “Jars of Gratitude” on Thursday, May 8th

In order to fund these special events, we are asking for donations! If you’re willing and able to contribute financially, please do so by visiting this website to make your donation. Please select “02 Da Vinci Communications” and note that it’s for Staff Appreciation.
