Happy Friday, DVC Family!

As we get ready to launch another school year, we want your feedback on teachers’ project ideas.  We’re inviting students, parents, professionals and other stakeholders to DVC on Tuesday, August 10th from 9am-10:30am to help teachers plan for the upcoming school year.

At this event, DVC stakeholders will hear “Project Pitches” from teachers and then provide feedback that makes the projects better, more real-world, and more culturally responsive.  Nothing you need to do to prepare in advance; just sign up and share with your networks. Students will learn more effectively because of your contributions ☺ See more details below.

Da Vinci Communications’ Critical Friends Event 

When: Aug. 10th 9am-10:30am

Where: Da Vinci Communications (201 N. Douglas, El Segundo, CA 90245)

How it works: Teachers will give a short presentation of their project idea and seek advice on real world connections, cultural responsiveness, student engagement, resources, and a range of other topics.  You’ll be able to interface with innovative Da Vinci teachers and stakeholders.

COVID considerations:  While this event will be in-person, we require all attendees to follow our COVID-19 protocols, including indoor mask wearing, check-in at front office for contact tracing, and social distancing.

Dear Class of 2022 Families,

We are excited to announce that we have set up dates with our photographer for seniors to take their Cap & Gown photos! You can sign up for your slot now at this Signup Genius link on a first-come, first-serve basis: tinyurl.com/DVCclass2022capgown

Caps & gowns will be provided at the photo appointment, and Da Vinci Schools is covering the cost of the “sitting fee” so families only need to pay for photos if they wish to purchase them after seeing them.

Spaces will go quickly, so we encourage all seniors to sign up for their slot as soon as possible!

These optional drop-in sessions are without any specific agenda – just responding to your questions and being available to meet your needs.
