Rising Earth High School Summer Internship

May 16, 2022 by Monique Aldrete

Rising Earth: Human Impact Education is looking to recruit artistically minded high schoolers interested in creative arts and the environment, for our free hybrid summer internship. Rising Earth is a nonprofit dedicated to educating future leaders on environmental issues and actions. We believe shifting culture towards awareness and reciprocity is key to healing the planet and ourselves. In our programs, graphic journalism and creativity are at the heart of the internships. Exploring nature as an urban youth and learning to connect inward and investigate their own personal impacts, voice, and worldview are also deeply embedded in our mission at Rising Earth. The Rising Earth team also creates graphic novels, curricula, and experiential learning opportunities that explore our human impacts on the environment– all created with feedback and piloting by youth from our programs.

Our 8-week internship gives urban youth opportunities to work in a collaborative space where their voices are heard and honored, connect with nature, and cultivate their understanding of human impact’s role on the environment through different creative mediums. In addition to our program, we are excited to share that this summer’s internship will be piloting our first Rising Earth Graphic Short Story Prize Contest!

Deadline to apply is May 31st, 2022. Here is the link to apply: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSchx3YXPQu29b–gTs96JH0AXhDVSBn-rQI_jgcGfNjhPMK_g/viewform
