The 6th Annual Johnstone Scholarship is NOW OPEN for seniors to apply!

The Johnstone Scholarship was created in 2018 in honor of Dr. Tom Johnstone, retiring Superintendent of Wiseburn Unified School District. Tom and his wife Terry, a retired WUSD teacher from Anza Elementary School (now named Del Aire Elementary School), dedicated their careers to delivering quality public education.

Scholarships in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded to graduating seniors from Da Vinci Schools. All applicants must be currently enrolled in Da Vinci Communications, Da Vinci Connect HS, Da Vinci Design, Da Vinci Rise, or Da Vinci Science.

The application deadline is May 5, 2024. No late entries will be accepted. The online application cannot be saved, and must be completed in one sitting. Please prepare and save your question responses and essays in a separate document for your records, application link can be found below:

DVC will be hosting a Career Fair on Wednesday, May 15 from 8:15 am-11:10 am. We are looking for guest speakers to share their careers and work experiences to expose our students to a variety of careers. You do not need a degree and/or certificate to be a part of the DVC Career Fair. We are seeking guest speakers in the following areas:

• Women in STEM
• Mental Health and Athletes
• Entrepreneur
• College Bound- First Generation and Higher Education
• Welding/Contractor/Electrician
• Trucking
• Transferring from a Community College
• Navigating an Artist’s world (Music, Art, Dance)
• Nursing
• Flight Attendant/Pilot
• Real Estate
• Financial Literacy – How to pay for college
• Entertainment
• or any other careers not listed above

Good afternoon 10th and 11th grade students,

Every year, The Posse Foundation works closely with high schools to recruit Posse Scholars. Each Posse Scholar wins a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to attend one of Posse’s partner colleges or universities (check partner schools here).  If you are interested in being nominated in the future and demonstrate leadership and academic potential, please attend our information session next Friday, April 26th during lunch.  It is highly encouraged for Juniors interested in Posse to attend this meeting so they can be nominated by Ms. Aldrete.

Hello DVC Students and Families,

April is “Month of the Military Child” and to honor our students who have loved ones in the military, we will be having “Military Mondays” every Monday beginning next week!

We will have representatives from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army come and present on their branches during lunch in Mr. Jackson’s room (3203). Students from all grade levels are welcome to attend! See flyer below for dates.
