Staff Appreciation Week: Call for Donations!

Dear DVC Students and Families,

We are gearing up for DVC Staff Appreciation Week during the first week of May and we have big plans! 

For staff and teacher appreciation week, we plan to do the following:

  • Host an Appreciation Breakfast on Monday, May 5th
  • Host an Appreciation Lunch on Wednesday, May 7th
  • Distribute “Jars of Gratitude” on Thursday, May 8th

In order to fund these special events, we are asking for donations! If you’re willing and able to contribute financially, please do so by visiting this website to make your donation. Please select “02 Da Vinci Communications” and note that it’s for Staff Appreciation.

Exhibition Night is TONIGHT @ 5:30pm!

DVC Exhibition Night is TONIGHT from 5:30pm to 7:00pm! All DVC students are expected to attend; students in 10th & 12th grades will be exhibiting their projects. We hope to see you at this special event!

  • New this semester: We will be checking in all students and families in the atrium just like we check in families for Student-Led Conferences (SLCs). Please note that non-Da Vinci students are required to check in and attend under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

Stop by the FUTURES class for the FIRST Wolves at Work Spring Market! During Exhibition, students will be selling handmade soaps and homemade treats, plus beverages and snacks for purchase. Come support our Wolves at Work job skills program—our students are excited to serve you!

Community Learning Day (CLD) on Monday, 4/21: The fourth and final Community Learning Day (CLD) is coming up after Spring Break on Monday, April 21st. Students should their preference for their CLD activity on this REQUEST FORM by Tuesday, April 8th.

Spring Break: Please note that there is no school next week (Monday, 4/14 – Friday, 4/18) for spring break.

Summer School: We will be offering Summer School for students who did not pass a class required for graduation. Classes will be held at DVC (201 N. Douglas St. El Segundo, CA 90245). If you have any questions regarding summer school, please contact your student’s counselor.

    • Session 1: Tuesday, June 17 – Friday, July 11 (8:30am – 11:30am)
      • No classes on Thursday, 6/19 (Juneteenth Holiday)
      • No classes the week of Monday, 6/30 (July 4th Holiday Week)
    • Session 2: Tuesday, July 15 – Thursday, July 31 (8:30am – 11:30am)

Week 29 Schedule

We hope that you are enjoying today’s day off in recognition of the birth and legacy of the civil rights and labor movement activist César Chávez! 

We are proud to announce that the Class of 2025 (our seniors) have been accepted to 107 colleges and universities so far! We are thrilled with their accomplishments; you can check out the list of schools at this link. 

Special congratulations to 16 students who received All-Star Awards during our CD on Friday for their citizenship, work ethic, resilience, and improvement. We are proud of you!

There are just nine more school days until spring break and only seven more school days until Exhibition Night! 

Exhibition Night: Please join us on Wednesday, April 9th from 5:30pm – 7:00pm for an engaging, project-based showcase from our 10th and 12th grade students! All DVC students are expected to attend, we hope to see lots of families at this awesome event.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Meeting: All are welcome to attend our Parent Advisory Committee Meeting on Tuesday, 4/1 @ 5pm – 201 N. Douglas or via zoom (link here). The agenda for the meeting is as follows:
