Week 35 Updates for Families

We had an excellent time celebrating the Class of 2026 at our Senior Decision Day last Wednesday, May 13th! We had a senior parade around the DVC campus at 12:00pm and then seniors went over to the gym for a “final recess.” More pics below. Graduation is June 11th! Commencement for the Class of 2026 will be on June 11th 2026, at 1:00 P.M. in the Da Vinci Schools Gym. All parents and guardians of graduating students received an email today for registration and seating.

Final Community Learning Day Learning Logs: We had the last CLD day on April 24th. Please make sure your student completes their learning log for credit before May 22nd! An email will be sent to parents and students who have missing or incomplete Learning Logs.

Parent Advisory Committee: We have our fifth (and final!) PAC meeting of the year on Thursday, May 21st (Zoom link) from 4:30-5:30pm.

Senior Awards Night: We have a special night coming up on Wednesday, May 20th!

Photography Exhibition @ 4:30pm (open to all): Students in the DVC Photography Seminar have prepared a special series of editorial shoots that will be on display in the Black Box Theater starting at 4:30pm. Please come to enjoy their work! This is the pre-show to the Senior Awards Night.
Senior Awards Night @ 5:30pm (seniors & families, by invitation only): We are excited to celebrate students in the Class of 2026 who will be receiving awards for their accomplishments during high school in the Black Box Theater. Invited students and families have received an invitation to this event via email. Please RSVP if you have not yet done so, and feel free to come early to check out the Photography Exhibition that is the pre-show!

Summer School: Students and families are being notified by counselors if Summer School may be required for your student. Summer School at DVC is offered for students who need Credit Recovery, and is done in person.

Accelerated Learning Opportunities: Students who meet the required criteria are able to take Accelerated Geometry or Algebra 2 during this year’s Summer Session. These courses are offered virtually. Please contact your student’s counselor for more information.

Dual Enrollment for Summer Sessions: Summer Dual Enrollment courses can be a great opportunity for extended learning. These Summer Dual Enrollment courses are offered through local community colleges and not directly through DVC in the Summer Session. Dual Enrollment courses through DVC are offered for students in grades 10-12 during the school year. If students need a dual enrollment form signed for summer session, please contact their counselor by June 5th.

Da Vinci Schools Family Survey: DVC Families, your voice matters. Messages with your personalized survey link directly from Kelvin Education have been sent to you. Please take a few minutes to click on the link and take the survey before Friday May 29th. Your honest input helps us celebrate what’s working and identify areas where we can improve.

DVC Yearbooks: Dear Families, we are excited to share that this year’s yearbooks are on their way! Copies will be arriving soon, and we have a limited quantity available for purchase. If you have any questions, please contact: Russell Albans (ralbans@davincischools.org).

WDV Performing Arts:

HS Musical Theatre Showcase (5/17): Join us in The Blackbox Sunday, May 17 @ 4pm for an intimate and casual performance by our musical theatre students! This complimentary afternoon will include ensemble numbers from celebrated shows, as well as solos, duets and small group numbers selected and staged by the students themselves. The “Voices of Da Vinci” High School Choir present HORIZON (5/21): Join the Voices of Da Vinci High School and Junior Choirs for their spring concert: “HORIZON”! In their first combined spring concert, these uplifting performances explore themes of perseverance, growth, and looking ahead toward new possibilities. Through a powerful mix of contemporary songs, soulful harmonies, spoken word, and inspiring moments, HORIZON celebrates the strength it takes to keep rising, even through challenges. Come experience an evening of music, hope, and connection as our students lift their voices toward what’s next. (HORIZON will take place in the Blackbox on Thu, 5/21 at 6pm. Admission is FREE—all are welcome to attend!)
Join us for an inspiring evening at the Spring Performing Arts Seminar Night (5/26), showcasing the work of students from our dynamic performing arts seminar classes! Featuring presentations from Stagecraft, Drum Ensemble, Music Production, On-Stage Acting, and On-Camera Acting, this event highlights the creativity, collaboration, and artistic growth that have taken place throughout the semester. From live music to scene work, tech design to digital media, come experience the wide range of talent our students have to offer. (The Spring Seminar Night will take place in the Blackbox on Tue, 5/26 at 6pm. Admission is FREE—all are welcome to attend!)
