Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our Spring Survey! We appreciate your feedback and we’re happy to share the results of the parent/guardian survey with you at this link. Please consider joining us in our final Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting of the school year on Monday, May 20th at 4:30pm in person (1st floor, Mona Lisa Room) or via this zoom link. During this meeting, we will take a look at these survey results and also get your input on what we could do to improve students’ educational experience at DVC for the 24-25 school year. Special thanks to the parents and DVC alumni who led workshops during our Career Day! Our 10th and 11th grade students were able to choose to learn about careers in fields such as marine biology, education, dentistry, nursing, mental health, and costume design. DVC’s Counseling Team organized this terrific event for students, and we couldn’t have done it without our volunteers – thank you!

May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Students have been learning about Asian American and Pacific Islander Cultures during Advisory for the past two weeks, and this week is AAPI Spirit Week! Check out the spirit week days and fundraisers this week in the announcements deck!

Throughout the week, we will also be celebrating PRIDE Month! See flyers around the school for activities for students during lunch in Hapner’s room all week long. Thank you to Pink & Lavender Club for organizing and decorating the school.

Photography Showcase on Thursday, 5/23: Students in the DVC Photography Seminar have prepared a special series of editorial shoots that will be on display in the Black Box Theater at 201 N. Douglas on Thursday, 5/23 starting at 4:30pm. Please come to enjoy their work! This is the pre-show to the Senior Awards Night.

Senior Awards Night on Thursday, 5/23: We are excited to celebrate students in the Class of 2024 who will be receiving awards for their accomplishments during high school in the Black Box Theater at 201 N. Douglas on Thursday, 5/23 at 5:30pm. Invited students and families have received an invitation to this event via email. Please RSVP if you have not yet done so, and feel free to come early to check out the Photography Showcase that is the pre-show!

POLs and Finals: This is the last week of normal classes before POL and Finals Weeks begin on Tuesday, 5/28! Students will have a 2pm dismissal from Tuesday, May 28th until the last day of school, Wednesday, June 5th.

Formal Clothing Donations: We would love for all of our students to have access to formal clothing even when it may not be possible for families to incur the cost. If you have some clothing / shoes that you would like to donate, we would gladly welcome it! Here’s what we are looking for: slacks (all sizes, all genders), button-up shirts, blouses, business dresses / skirts, blazers, and shoes, too! Please drop off the clothing items at the first or third floor.
