Happy Sunday DVC,

Here are the list of college/career reps that will be visiting DVC during lunch this upcoming week:

• Tuesday, November 7th @ 11:45 am: U.S. Army

All college/career rep visits will take place in Mr. Jackson’s room (3203), and no sign-ups are required to attend. Students are able to grab lunch after the presentation as I will give out excuse slips to extend their lunch time.

DVC Students of all grade levels (9-12) can attend these rep visits.

College & Career Counselor

We had a great spirit week at DVC, including celebrations of our All-Star Award winners and the newly inducted members of the National Honor Society! And now we turn our attention to our biggest night of the semester – Exhibition Night! We invite all families, friends, and community members to join us on Thursday, 11/16 from 5:30 – 7:00pm as our students showcase their projects. All DVC students are required to attend; students in grades 10 & 12 will have their projects on display.

This week is a three-day week for students! There is no school on Thursday, 11/9 (Professional Development) and Friday, 11/10 (Veterans Day).

Shelter-in-Place Drill: The Da Vinci high schools located at the 201 N. Douglas location (including DVC) will be participating in a Shelter-in-Place Drill on Wednesday, November 8th. Shelter-in-Place drills are designed to educate students and staff and to provide practice opportunities for what to initially do in the event of an on-campus or nearby emergency that requires a lockdown. 

Senior Portraits: This is the final opportunity for the Class of 2024 to take their senior portraits with our photographer, Stacee Lianna. If you haven’t taken your photo yet, please sign up so that we can include you in the yearbook. PSAT Scores: PSAT scores for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be available on November 6th. Students are/will be able to access their scores through their College Board account at this link. PDFs of score reports will also be mailed home with end of semester report cards. Here are some resources to understand scores:

Hello DVC Seniors!

The CSS Profile is an application for institutional financial aid required by more than 300 colleges, universities and scholarship organizations. If you are applying to a college that requires the CSS Profile, please complete this form as soon as possible. The financial information that is provided by completing the CSS profile will allow colleges to create an estimated award offer if you are accepted to their institution.  As we wait for the FAFSA to open sometime in December, we are also anticipating that processing of the FAFSA may take longer than expected.  However, the estimated award as a result of the CSS profile, will more than likely be the actual award you will receive.

Students that applied Early Action/Early Decision may have a CSS Profile deadline in November or December.  Please check deadline on the respective university websites. To check if your colleges require the CSS Profile, check here: Here is the list of participating institutions

The UCs and the CSUs do not require the CSS Profile, only the FAFSA or the CADAA
