Wishing you all a safe, fun and restful holiday weekend! School will not be in session on Monday, February 19th in honor of President’s Day Holiday; school will resume on Tuesday, February 20th. We are looking forward to our Black History Month CD and our Spring SemiFormal Dance on Friday, February 23rd!

Save the Dates: Please mark your calendars for the following important events for students & families:

• Week of March 3rd – Student-Led Conferences: If you have not already done so, please mark your calendars for our upcoming Student-Led Conferences. These will be held during the week of March 3rd, and sign ups will be available for families on Tuesday, 2/20. Please look for an email with instructions on how to sign up! As a reminder, all parents/guardians are expected to attend a conference for their student. We look forward to the opportunity to connect with you!

• Wednesday, March 27 – Exhibition Night: We are gearing up for our Spring Exhibition Night! Our 9th and 11th grade students will be showcasing their projects and all students are expected to attend! We encourage families, friends, and community members to attend this special event – feel free to invite guests! The event will run from 5:30 – 7:00pm.

Happy Sunday! Here are the list of colleges/universities that will be visiting us during lunch this week:

• Monday, February 12th @ 11:45 am: Merrimack College
• Friday, February 16th @ 11:45 am: Woodbury University

All college rep visits will take place in Mr. Jackson’s room (3203). As a reminder, food is not allowed during the college rep visits, however, if you would like to grab lunch before, please come to my office 15 minutes before lunch to have you dismissed to grab food before the presentation.

Students of all grade levels (9-12) can attend the college rep visits.

We have a fun and busy week ahead of us! We are hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, celebrating Spirit Week with themed dress days all week long, and participating in Random Acts of Kindness Day on Friday. In addition, we have an 11th grade trip to the NACAC College Fair in Pasadena as well as a trip to the Reagan Library for The Situation Room Experience for Marketing & Economics students!

Blood Drive: On Monday, February 12th, the DVC National Honor Society is proud to pay it forward and strengthen our community by helping to save lives. DVC is going to the Black College Expo again! Seniors, please bring your transcripts as schools have on-site acceptances, with scholarships! All students in grades 9-12 are welcome to attend. Please complete the google form if you are interested in attending the Black College Expo. We leave the school Saturday morning, via school bus, at 9:00 am and plan to return by 4 pm. Students would need to bring their own lunch, or money for lunch, as lunch will not be provided.  Students who ride on the bus to the event must also leave on the bus.

Only 40 spots available, 11th and 12th Grade students will be prioritized!
