DVC will be hosting a Career Fair on Wednesday, May 15 from 8:15 am-11:10 am. We are looking for guest speakers to share their careers and work experiences to expose our students to a variety of careers. You do not need a degree and/or certificate to be a part of the DVC Career Fair. We are seeking guest speakers in the following areas:

• Women in STEM
• Mental Health and Athletes
• Entrepreneur
• College Bound- First Generation and Higher Education
• Welding/Contractor/Electrician
• Trucking
• Transferring from a Community College
• Navigating an Artist’s world (Music, Art, Dance)
• Nursing
• Flight Attendant/Pilot
• Real Estate
• Financial Literacy – How to pay for college
• Entertainment
• or any other careers not listed above

Good afternoon 10th and 11th grade students,

Every year, The Posse Foundation works closely with high schools to recruit Posse Scholars. Each Posse Scholar wins a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to attend one of Posse’s partner colleges or universities (check partner schools here).  If you are interested in being nominated in the future and demonstrate leadership and academic potential, please attend our information session next Friday, April 26th during lunch.  It is highly encouraged for Juniors interested in Posse to attend this meeting so they can be nominated by Ms. Aldrete.

Interested in taking dual enrollment courses during the summer?

Ms. Aldrete will be offering drop-in hours every Friday in April for those students interested in signing up to assist with any questions and registration. In order to be called out, please email Ms. Aldrete (maldrete@davincischools.org) so that she can call you out of class whenever she’s available.

Hello DVC Students and Families,

April is “Month of the Military Child” and to honor our students who have loved ones in the military, we will be having “Military Mondays” every Monday beginning next week!

We will have representatives from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army come and present on their branches during lunch in Mr. Jackson’s room (3203). Students from all grade levels are welcome to attend! See flyer below for dates.

I hope you all had a restful Spring Break! Here are the list of college/career reps that will be visiting DVC during lunch this upcoming week:

• Monday, April 8th @ 11:45 am: St. John’s University (NY)

All college rep visits will take place in Mr. Jackson’s room (3203). As a reminder, students are encouraged to grab food before the presentation.

Students of all grade levels (9-12) can attend the college rep visits.
