Blood Drive on Monday, 10/31: Our National Honor Society has partnered with the Red Cross to host a blood drive at Da Vinci Schools on Halloween! Please sign up here: Da Vinci Blood Drive Sign Up (Red Cross)

Spirit Week:  We hope to see lots of participation from staff and students! Here is the overview of the themed days.

  • Monday, 10/31: Halloween Costumes – Costume Contest @ Lunch (no full-face costume masks)
  • Tuesday, 11/1: Pajama Day
  • Wednesday, 11/2: Anything But a Backpack Day
  • Thursday, 11/3: Twin Day
  • Friday, 11/4: Class Colors Day
    • 9th – green
    • 10th – pink
    • 11th – blue
    • 12th – purple

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • Saturday, 11/5: DV Semi-Formal Dance 
    • Tickets can be purchased through myschoolbucks.com.
    • Dance contract required; submit contract to 3305 (Donald).
    • Only current DV students can attend the dance; no guests allowed.
  • Friday, 11/11: No School – Veterans Day Holiday
  • Thursday, 11/17: Exhibition Night – grades 10 & 12 |  5:30pm – 7:00pm 
  • Monday, 11/21 – Friday, 11/25: No School – Thanksgiving Break
  • Thursday, 12/8 – Thursday, 12/15: Presentations of Learning – POLs (1:50pm dismissal)

Blood Drive @ Da Vinci on Monday!

Hello, Da Vinci Community!

On Monday, October 31st we’ll roll up our sleeves and help save lives! We will proudly partner with the American Red Cross to hold what we expect to be the first of many spooky Halloween blood drives!

Each pint of blood we collect can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. What a great way to pay it forward and make an impact on people in our community and across the country. We are very excited about the drive and hope that you are, too.

Week 11 Schedule

Thank you for attending our Student-Led Conferences this week! We appreciate the opportunity to partner with you in support of your student’s educational success and overall well-being. Week 10 Schedule

Dear DVC Students and Families,

Tomorrow begins Student-Led Conferences (SLCs)! To accommodate the conferences, school will be dismissed at 1:50pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Friday is a normal dismissal time of 3:35pm. Our 9th graders will be taking a college trip to UC Irvine on Friday.

Student-Led Conferences: Parents & guardians are expected to attend their student’s conference. Please contact your student’s Grade Level Homeroom Teacher if you are in need of sign-up information. Generally, here are the dates and times available for conferences:

  • Monday, October 17th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM (In person, on campus conferences)
  • Tuesday, October 18th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM (In person, on campus conferences)
  • Wednesday, October 19th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM (Virtual conferences through Zoom)
  • Thursday, October 20th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM (Virtual conferences through Zoom)

Week 9 Schedule

Dear DVC Students and Families,

Week 9 is a short week for students! There is no school on Thursday and Friday due to professional development.

PSAT Day: On Wednesday (10/12), our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be taking the PSAT. Please be sure that they bring a calculator, water bottle, and snacks with them to school for test day!

Hispanic Heritage CD: On Friday, our school will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15) with a special CD (i.e. all-school assembly). We are looking forward to this special event!

School Pictures: Students’ school pictures are available for purchase at this link: https://staceelianna.smugmug.com/DaVinciSchools/DVC-Picture-Day-2022  Photos are organized according to the last name of students’ Advisory Teacher; please navigate to their Advisory Teacher’s last name and make any purchases you’d like through the gallery.

DECA Clothing Drive: DECA (a student organization at DVC that prepares students to become future leaders in marketing, business, hospitality, and finance) is hosting a clothing drive for those who struggle with homelessness on skid row. The clothing drive will begin on October 10th and will end on October 24th. There will be donation boxes placed in your student’s English classroom available for donation drop offs throughout the school day. Your students can drop them off in their classrooms or you may drop them off from 8am to 4pm in the DV school reception office at 201 N. Douglas. All clothes donated will be given to the Los Angeles Mission who give them to people struggling with homelessness on Skid Row. Below is a list of items suggested for donation: 

  • Clothing and shoes in men, women, and children’s sizes
  • Extra-large and tall sizes are needed (XL, XXL, XXXL shirts)
  • Business attire is appreciated
  • New undergarments **used undergarments will not be accepted**
  • Coats, beanies, and gloves for the wintertime
  • Pajamas, tops and bottoms

Student-Led Conferences (SLCs): Parents & guardians are expected to attend their student’s conference during the week of 10/17. Please ensure that your student has signed up for a conference. Here are the dates and times available for conferences:

  • Monday, October 17th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM (In person, on campus conferences)
